What this means in practice
Every occupation page is anchored to a Standard Occupational Classification code, which is what connects the site's scores to public evidence. The six-digit code identifies the occupation family; O*NET extends it with task, skill, and work-activity data collected from job incumbents.
The match is what makes the task lists on occupation pages verifiable rather than invented. Some pages deliberately share a code — Call Center Agents and Customer Service Representatives both map to 43-4051 — because O*NET groups them while consumers search for them separately.
